What kind of further study have you undertaken since leaving Bedales, and have you gained any qualifications?

I gained a first class honours degree from the University of Exeter in Philosophy and the Political Economy.

What kind of work are you currently involved in, and how and why did you come to be doing it?

I am currently an Account Director working in advertising.  The creativity and dynamism of the industry is what attracted me, and I opted for account management due to the focus on business management and leadership.

Has Bedales helped you in getting to where you are now, and how satisfied are you with what you are doing?

Yes, very much so. I would say that in three key ways Bedales has prepared me for where I am now, and helped develop the skills that requires a strong mix of creativity and business-minded/leadership attributes too.

Autonomy and self-motivation: the liberty and freedom that you have at Bedales - to manage your time, and balance your work and play - embeds a drive and self-motivation to succeed. This has created an ease and comfort in doing what is required to fulfil your ambition.

Teamwork and leadership: the Bedales ethos is 'work of each for weal of all' and this teaches you the importance of teamwork which is something that comes naturally to myself as a Bedalian.  This is vital for company and business life because companies are looking for team players.

Creativity in finding solutions: the creativity of a Bedalalian life instils creativity in the mind.  With me, rather than using this creativity with a specific art, it has given me the skills to overcome challenges (be they work or personal) with creative and unique - but effective - solutions.  Again, this is something very much valued in professional life.

Are there any other interesting activities or occupations that you have been involved in since leaving school?

I am the crowd drummer for Fulham Football Club!
