A stream of professional and school events is open to the public: music, drama, dance, jazz and lectures in the Bedales Olivier Theatre, and exhibitions of art and design in the Bedales Gallery.

Gallery

  • a purpose-built gallery opened in 1990
  • up to 8 exhibitions a year including national touring exhibitions, solo and group exhibitions by professional artists and craftspeople, and school exhibitions

Olivier Theatre

  • award-winning timber-framed structure, completed in 1996
  • variable stage configurations, 250 - 340 seats
  • a full programme of school productions and concerts combined with lively touring theatre, the best in modern jazz, exciting contemporary dance, distinguished classical recitals and poetry readings, and folk blues from the U.K.
  • free admission to all exhibitions; free tickets for school concerts and school productions
  • modest ticket prices for visiting professional programme (concessions apply for all the usual groups)
  • free off-street parking
  • disabled parking - reserved spaces opposite theatre entrance

Quad

  • the school's main 400 seat concert hall (raked seating)
  • Steinway grand piano

Professional Jazz Series

The Bedales Jazz Series aims to attract some of the best modern jazz players in the country to an intimate concert venue where the music is always firmly centre stage.

Unreserved seats in Theatre & Quad. The Theatre and The Quad will be open half-an-hour before the advertised starting time.

Please park in the main school car park (the first turning on the right off the main drive).

Wheelchairs – limited spaces available (please book in advance).

Safety – please be particularly aware of varying floor levels in the theatre
auditorium, resulting from different stage configurations.

Every effort will be made to present the advertised programme. The right is reserved to substitute or cancel particular events in exceptional circumstances.
