Bedales Taster Day for Prep School Pupils

We offer a 'Taster Day' experience for our feeder prep schools, giving prospective pupils a wonderful opportunity to experience what it is like to study at Bedales senior school. The day typically consists of lessons in a variety of subjects at venues across the Bedales estate. At previous Taster Days, the itinerary has included:

  • Classics - studying ancient Greek with Head of Classics, Mike Lambert in the Orchard Building
  • Design - creating textiles with teacher Louise Fellingham in the Design Block
  • Outdoor Work - baking with country cooking teacher Carole Prowse followed by a tour of Sotherington barn and the Outdoor Work barns
  • Chemistry - a lecture followed by experiments with Head of Chemistry, Michael Newman
  • The day includes a tour of the Memorial Library, lunch in the Dining Hall and ends with tea and scones (baked by the pupils earlier) with their parents in the Orchard Building
