Bedales welcomes Hector the horse to the community

We were delighted to welcome a three year old Percheron horse by the name of Hector to the Bedales community this week. Hector, named by Peter Coates and students, will continue the theme of Trojan war inspired names started by our other horse Spartan. But don’t be fooled by such epic titles, Hector showed he was rather too docile and keen on a nap to be an effective stud horse. However, he can be ridden and will no doubt help Spartan pull the carriage at Christmas time as well as look beautiful when turned out in our fields. As Hector arrived, Peter was also delighted to receive an adorable black Labrador puppy as a birthday present.
