Capital Projects

The stunning Bedales estate has evolved over the last 110 years, with an eclectic mix of beautiful and architecturally significant buildings. The Orchard Building which opened in 2005 created wonderful new teaching, learning and administrative spaces. While they do not define the school, as our community does, buildings certainly contribute an immeasurable amount to life at Bedales.

Many of the school’s developments have been funded by generous donations made by people whose lives have been touched by the school.

We are committed to continuous improvement in the Bedales fabric. In particular, we will be making significant investments in the art and music facilities, creating yet better opportunities for the highly talented artists and musicians Bedales attracts and develops. In Spring 2011 we will publish our detailed plans for these areas.

For those who would like to help us improve facilities more immediately, we are raising funds for three relatively small barn projects which will provide much needed additional facilities, whist maintaining our strong tradition of oak-framed building: a new Bedales barn for ceramics, pottery and sculpture; a Dunhurst sports pavilion; and a barn renovation to create a Dunannie Outdoor Work classroom.

We aim to bring forward the delivery dates of these projects through donations, and will be updating this page with progress towards delivering these new facilities.

For those who would prefer to help broaden access, we are seeking donations to the John Badley Foundation to support bursaries.
