Religious Education

Aims

  1. To study aspects of a variety religions, looking at their origins and how they have developed.
  2. To develop skills in discussing ideas and attitudes.
  3. To look critically and yet sympathetically at how cultures develop around certain religions.
  4. To understand how other people live.

Teaching Methods:

  • Reading translations of original sources.
  • Exploring the lives of significant religious individuals through research, film and documentation.
  • Question and answer sessions; classroom discussions.
  • Looking at religious artefacts.
