Science

Bruner said "The fundamentals of any subject may be taught to anybody at any age in some form."

This we believe in and it applies equally to skills.

Science is about children asking questions about their real world and finding answers by some kind of first-hand experience.

Being scientific involves the following scientific skills:

  • Observing
  • Classifying
  • Looking for patterns
  • Measuring
  • Attempting to explain
  • Communicating
  • Predicting
  • Experimenting
  • Drawing conclusions
  • Evaluating and modifying

By the time our pupils move on to Bedales, they will have the confidence to use laboratory equipment safely and imaginatively, and possess a strong grasp of science.
