Bedales leads in Jubilee celebrations
Congratulations and thanks to Bedales students, parents and staff who made a leading contribution to last week’s Jubilee extravaganza in Petersfield, taking part in a lantern procession along the banks of Heath Pond. The evening concluded with Petersfield’s official Jubilee Beacon, a blazing tribute to the Queen, shimmering on the water. The beacon crown was made of wrought iron in the forge by Bedales students and was accompanied by a representation of the Queen’s coat of arms in the form of a large lantern made of willow and paper. In attendance at the lantern festival were two giant lantern puppets, representing the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, which were also built by Bedales students.
