Bedales offers new TPS Sixth Form Scholarship
Bedales School has partnered with The Petersfield School (TPS) to offer one outstanding student from TPS the opportunity to study at Bedales sixth form either boarding or day from September 2012.
Entitled ‘the Bedales and Petersfield School Sixth Form Scholarship’, the award will extend the good relationship between Bedales and TPS and broaden access by enabling a student, who would not otherwise consider sixth form at an independent boarding school, to have the option of studying at Bedales.
Nominated by the Principal of TPS, candidates who have outstanding ability and drive in one or more areas such as, academic, theatre, music, dance, art or design will be considered by Bedales for the award. Up to 100% fee assistance will be made available according to an assessment of the family’s financial circumstances.
Commenting on the scholarship, Keith Budge, Headmaster of Bedales Schools, said: “This latest award is part of a wider initiative to broaden access to Bedales, which follows last year’s launch of the John Badley Foundation bursary scheme. We felt it was important to open up a similar opportunity locally and I am delighted that our good relationship with TPS has led to the creation of this new award.”
Nigel Poole, Principal of TPS, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Bedales School on this Scholarship Scheme – it’s a terrific opportunity. Bedales provides a unique approach to liberal education and the scholarship offer has already proved hugely popular amongst my Year 11 students and their parents.”
