Bedales Rocks

12/02/2010

For two nights in a row, the Olivier Theatre in Steep was transformed into a rock stadium for the Bedales Annual Rock Show, showcasing the talent, creativity and musical expertise of the musicians.

The concert included performances from bands and solo performers - while other students took care of the lighting and special effects. Proceeds from the show have been donated to African educational charities which the school supports.

Music at Bedales has a well-earned reputation for exceptionally high teaching standards and encouraging the best from students - the news of sixth-former Josephine Bentley’s (6.1) award for the prestigious Laura Marco Prize from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) is a testament to this.

Josephine gained the highest mark in the The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music’s (ABRSM) Grade 8 Flute examinations held in 2009 in the UK and in other countries around the world. Josie’s name will appear in the 2009 ABRSM Annual Review which will be published in May this year.
