The Petersfield branch of 'Save the Children' recently raised over £25,000 from their ‘Good-As-New’ clothes sale. The event took place over three days in the Petersfield Festival Hall and involved Bedales students who participated in a pre-event fashion show.
The Bedales students were invited to choose and coordinate clothing which they modelled to encourage shoppers to purchase complete outfits. The students also featured in a promotional video which will be used to show other 'Save the Children' branches what can be undertaken to raise the profile of fundraising events.
The Petersfield branch of 'Save the Children' is chaired by Moony Budge who says:
'With over 1000 shoppers on the first day alone of the sale we were absolutely delighted to beat all our records. The models from Bedales exemplified all that we were trying to achieve; their infectious enthusiasm was a great credit to Bedales. The girls were able to find some fantastic outfits at a fraction of high street prices; enjoy a taste of modelling with fashion photographer Michel Focard; and have tremendous fun in the process while helping the Petersfield branch promote the clothes sale. We really appreciate the support that Bedales gives to 'Save the Children', which works with many children and families in difficult circumstances both within the UK and worldwide.’
