Bedales Student Joe Boon and band Theory of 6 Degrees to Play at Butserfest

02/09/2010

Bedales student Joe Boon will be performing at Butserfest with his band The Theory of 6 Degrees (T6D) on Saturday 11th September at Queen Elizabeth Park. Their performance follows their selection as ‘Best Local Band’ at the Petersfield Awards, an award they were delighted to receive at the local Festivities over the bank holiday weekend.

In addition to the Butserfest performance Joe has another important date in his calendar this September with the start of the Autumn term at his senior school, following time at Bedales Junior school, Dunhurst.  Commenting on the move up to Bedales Jo said: “I’m looking forward to all the opportunities Bedales will offer me, particularly musically and I can’t wait to get started!”

Joe successfully combines his school work with his ambitions as a budding young rock star and earlier this year he performed with his band at Glastonbury and was one of the youngest performers there aged just 13. He performed at the festival on Sunday and then returned to his school desk on Monday and has performed at a variety of gigs throughout the South-East during the summer holiday period including Guilfest and Redfest.
