Dunhurst hosts 'Woodwind Day'

Woodwind players from seven local primary schools took part in a special ‘Woodwind Day’, hosted by Dunhurst School, Bedales independent junior school. Conifers School, Camelsdale, Harting Primary, Herne Junior, Longacre School, Sheet Primary and West Meon Primary all participated.

The pupils spent the day studying their chosen instrument and composing music, together with their teachers, and professional players from woodwind instrument specialists, Howarth of London. At the end of the day, the pupils performed the finished composition in the school assembly hall in front of pupils and parents.

Head of Music at Dunhurst, Kathy Misson, said:

‘It was a fabulous day and the final performance was a wonderful experience for all the young players involved.’
