Dunhurst Teams Hit the Ground Running
Dunhurst sport hit the ground running with pre-season netball training taking place before term began. Over 70% of girls in Years 4, 5 and 6 attended additional netball practice and as a result, three teams from Dunhurst will travel to the Isle of Wight to play against Ryde School. During the first week of term, the U13 girls’ team also attended a successful netball training afternoon at Barrow Hills School, in Godalming.
Head of PE, Rachel Hearnshaw, says:
‘I’m really impressed with the level of enthusiasm across the Year groups. We have over 100 fixtures this term and I’m expecting some good wins.’
In addition to matches taking place as often as three times a week, Dunhurst is hosting a ‘Netball Versatility Tournament’ in November, involving 10 schools, when players will have the opportunity to play in each position. Other highlights this term include the Butser Hill Challenge and the Hampshire County Trials.
