Dunhurst School, Bedales independent junior school, recently hosted an U13 girls’ hockey tournament with six schools taking part. The schools were Alton Convent, Ditcham Park, Frensham Heights, Great Ballard, Portsmouth High School and Prebendal School.

The tournament was a thrilling event with great play from all teams, however, Dunhurst remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, scoring 21 goals in total and conceding only three.

The semi-finals saw Dunhurst beat Alton Convent (3-1) and Portsmouth High School win against Prebendal (2-1). The final game between Dunhurst and Portsmouth High was a tough game but after some great passes and excellent team work, Dunhurst emerged as the winner (2-1).

Head of PE at Dunhurst, Rachel Hearnshaw, said:

‘I have taught some of these girls from Year 4 so it was really enjoyable to watch them play in their final hockey fixture at Dunhurst, five years later. The girls have been training really hard which has clearly paid off.’
