Around 60 pupils from Bedales, Dunhurst and Dunannie have been unable to return to school because of flights to the UK being grounded. With the exception of four teachers, the schools are fully staffed. We have no school trips affected by the delay.
As all sixth formers are sitting mock exams in the first week of term, we are emailing exam papers to those whose returns to school are delayed. Papers will be emailed as soon as possible after the start of the exams at school. Affected sixth formers are asked to sit the papers under exam conditions. This operation is being co-ordinated by the Director of Teaching and Learning’s office so any queries should be directed to amcconville@bedales.org.uk.
The Independent Schools Council is discussing with the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) the potential impact on public exams, which the DCSF is taking up with the exam boards and relevant statutory bodies. We are keeping abreast of developments and will provide regular updates.
