Great results for Dunhurst at Butser Hill Challenge
The sun was shining on pupils from Dunhurst, Bedales Junior School, as they tackled the annual Butser Hill Challenge and conquered it with some excellent results. Emilie Jung, one of the youngest runners in Year 8, was the first girl in the Year 8-11 Race and Pippa Lock came third in the Year 6 – 7 race. Dunhurst’s Year 7 girls won the trophy for their age group (Pippa Lock, Rosie Geaves and Dora Houghton).
Commenting on the results, Head of Dunhurst, Jane Grubb said: “The level of participation was amazing with over a quarter of our school taking part. Some were running to achieve the goal of getting up the hill and completing the challenge whilst for others it was the triumph of lifting the trophy.”
In other results Dunhurst’s football teams scored multiple wins, The U13 A team won against Sherfield 5-2, the B team won against Haslemere Prep 4-0 and the U11 team won against Alton 4-1. Dunhurst’s U13 and U12 Netball teams won 11-9 and 16-7 respectively versus St Swithun’s and Dunhurst also hosted the annual U13 netball tournament involving 10 teams (100 girls) of which, despite good efforts by our team and others, the eventual winners were St Swithun’s.
