Reflections on Bedales Founder

25/02/2010

We are delighted to confirm that former Headmaster Tim Slack has agreed to return to Bedales to talk about his personal reflections and memories of school founder John Haden Badley. John Badley established Bedales in 1893 in Haywards Heath to educate “head, heart and hand” as the alternative more traditional schools simply “would not do.” He moved the school to its present site in Steep in 1900. Tim Slack was Bedales Headmaster from 1962 – 1974, and John Badley died during his headship in 1967, aged 102.

Come and find out more about the Badley philosophy of “Work of Each for Weal of All”. Tim Slack’s talk takes place at Bedales on Saturday 6 March 2010 at 11am in the Lupton Hall.

A light lunch will be available after the talk. There is no need to pre-book.
