Victory for Bedales U13A Football team against Great Ballard

15/11/2010

Dunhurst played quality football from the off with a 1-0 lead thanks to Barnaby Watney but Great Ballard came back strongly and they were 3-1 up after 30 minutes. With only eight of twelve players on the pitch at any one time Dunhurst’s formation changed regularly but they never lost the cohesion and Tom Reynolds found the corner of the net on three occasions to score a magnificent hat trick. A corner move well practised by the team earlier on in the week finished with a goal when James Geaves came in from the edge of the box to put the ball beyond the keepers reach. At 5-3 up and just a minute to go Great Ballard managed to put another one away but Dunhurst then held on quite comfortably until the final whistle to record an excellent win at 5-4.

Commenting on the match, Alan Simmons, Dunhurst PE Teacher said: “All twelve of the boys played their socks off and really are developing their team play and personal skills. All in all this really was an excellent performance and I am genuinely proud of the attitude and commitment displayed by the whole team. We still have four fixtures remaining this term and look forward to them all.”
