Visiting Pupils inspired by Bedales Sixth Form Art & Design
Pupils from West Hill Park School in Titchfield and Twyford School near Winchester enjoyed a showcase of Bedales students’ work in art and design at the ‘Bedales Selective’ exhibition this week, featuring examined art work, textiles and product design by Bedales sixth formers.
Exhibits included: a scorpion-inspired lamp and ipod dock design, speakers shaped out of wood to resemble the Giant’s Causeway and handmade coats and dresses reflecting styles across multiple eras. Art-work features stunning portraits and sculptures.
Commenting on the exhibition a West Hill Park pupil said, “I am hoping to come to Bedales on an art scholarship so it is great to see all this amazing art work and I enjoyed meeting George Hatton and the other art and design teachers. It is exciting to see what can be achieved.”
Richard Heathcote, Art & Design teacher at West Hill Park said: “'the children had a fantastic time and it was wonderful for them to have the opportunity to be inspired by such a high standard of Art, Textiles and Design Technology, all shown in a wonderful gallery space.”
