Left in 1988 to study Economics at the University of Cambridge, BA (1992), MPhil (1993); Harvard University, Henry Fellow (1994); University of Oxford, DPhil Economics (1998).

What is your current role?

Partner at McKinsey & Co, a consulting firm which advises the world’s leading corporations and governmental institutions.

In what way did your time at Bedales influence your education and career progression?

Bedales taught me:

  • the value of unconstrained aspiration and possibility
  • the wonder of having personal independence, but also the self-discipline you need to make effective use of this independence!

What is your fondest memory of Bedales?

Galumphing down past the Poet Stone.

What is your favourite pastime?

Taking my kids Mark and Elliot to Whipsnade zoo and Ballroom and Latin American dancing with my wife Anya.

What is your proudest achievement?

Persuading my 4-year old son Mark to teach me some Russian.
