Within the curriculum, the arts flourish. In the design studios and workshops, whose achievements are nationally respected, students are given a sound understanding of design processes and an ability to manufacture products to a high level of execution.

Equal numbers of boys and girls tackle a wide range of disciplines from sculpture and jewellery, textiles, furniture and product design to architecture, engineering and electronics.

At Bedales, the influence of the art department stretches far beyond the confines of the art studio itself. Before specialising at GCSE or A level, all students are encouraged to engage in a variety of expressive media, including fine art, graphics, etching, silk screen printing, photography, sculpture and ceramics.
