Begun in November 2002 and completed in the Summer of 2004, the Workshop Barn has been entirely built by Bedales students and staff, under the expert direction of old Bedalians, John and Henry Russell.

The green oak frame was prepared on-site and raised in the traditional manner, using block and tackle. The barn has mahogany block-flooring (salvaged from a skip) and herring-bone brickwork.
