Why Boarding?

The boarding community is at the heart of Dunhurst. Boarding can exemplify education in its broadest sense, by the experience of living in a community and benefiting from all this can entail, developing self confidence, self-respect and moreover, respect for others - adults and children. Apart from anything else, it can be great fun!

At Dunhurst we have three sections to our boarding community: boys' wing, girls' wing and junior wing (catering for eight to ten year old boarders.) Flexibility is important: boarding should fit with the varied needs of families. Weekends are busy - a programme that blends leisure with excitement and activity. A team of caring dedicated staff looks after boarders. Boarding cannot (and is not intended to) replace home, but then how many homes can boast such facilities, the company of friends and such breadth of opportunity.
