The success of any system of pastoral care is
measured by the willingness and readiness of the pupils to communicate.
At Dunhurst it is a priority to give boys and girls the opportunity
and confidence to communicate - to nurture individuality, to develop
self-confidence and to produce articulate, enquiring, interesting
young men and women.

In the first three years, much of the pastoral care is the responsibility
of the 'Group Teacher' who sees his/her class for approximately
half of the timetable. In the 'Blocks', the eleven and twelve year
olds have a personal tutor who guides the academic progress of his/her
charges and monitors their general welfare in weekly tutorials.
It is our aim that there is always someone to talk to and always
someone to listen. |
