Creative Studies encompasses Pottery, Art, Textiles, and Design Technology (Workshop). The pupils have two double lessons a week with half the class being split into two disciplines in order to keep class sizes small. Classes exchange termly to enable all pupils to study all four subjects.

There is a strong emphasis on drawing, painting, design work and good craftsmanship. The department has a strong belief in pupils visiting exhibitions and experiencing workshops. Recent visits have included; The Royal Academy to see 'Aztecs', The Southampton City Art Gallery, The National Portrait Gallery, our own Bedales Gallery and a trip to Barcelona. Recently we also have had two African themed artists-in-residence who added to the pupils' rich experience.
