What makes a good teacher at Bedales?

I think that a good sense of humour is important along with high expectations and ambition for the students’ success.

What are you trying to encourage and instil in your students?

I hope to encourage a love of languages and the target language cultures. I would like students to be able to communicate effectively and to have a strong platform for future language study.

Apart from your teaching role, what else do you get involved with at the school?

I run the Christian union and assist Block 5 pupils who need extra support and motivation.

In your opinion, what makes Bedales special?

My overriding impression so far is of a very friendly and welcoming school where students can study and grow as individuals.

Who or what inspires you?

My two children inspire me with their dedication, energy and enthusiasm for life although they can be exhausting sometimes!

Tell us something not a lot of people know about you.

I appeared in an episode of Just William for the BBC dressed as Robin Hood- it was not a pretty sight!
