Children at Bedales Pre-prep, Dunannie were at the heart of the community on Wednesday when they hosted their annual Harvest Festival celebration.

Attended by Steep’s Reverend John Owen and Petersfield Food Bank’s Terry Doubleday, who both gave thought-provoking talks, the event gave Dunannie children an opportunity to reflect, express gratitude and demonstrate compassion and generosity by donating to the local community.

Children had filled boxes with food donations prior to the event, which were displayed at the front of the room before being delivered to Petersfield Food Bank. Later, pupils at both Dunannie and Bedales Prep, Dunhurst enjoyed a Harvest lunch outside.

Head of Dunannie Victoria Homewood commented: “We were delighted to welcome Rev. Owen and Terry Doubleday back to Dunannie for this year’s Harvest Festival celebration, which has raised the children’s awareness of how they can support and make an impact in their local community.”
