Bedales Schools – weather update
Bedales Schools – weather update as at 9am Saturday 3 March 2018
Here is an update on the impact of the weather on Dunannie, Dunhurst and Bedales. We will continue to monitor the weather and forecasts, and will communicate any changes to parents and other visitors.
Main roads are clear including Bell Hill. A3 open both lanes and clear with no snow. Church road passable with care.
Snow has stopped falling but has settled on roads, pavements and car parks, Conditions are expected to remain icy.
Normal business will resume next week.
Contact details for Dunannie Reception when the school is open: 01730 300400. For any urgent queries during Dunannie's closure, please contact Dunhurst or Bedales (see below).
Dunhurst remains open for boarders but day pupils aren't expected to attend unless they can travel in safely and get home again. Please check local forecasts.
We will aim to run a normal timetable. The activities programme will be adapted depending on numbers of children and staff that are able to come into school. For those that do arrive in school, sledges are welcome. Please ensure children wrap up warm.
For boarding pupils (Groups and Blocks) we will aim to run the normal Saturday afternoon train service to London Waterloo, services permitting. There will be no Groups’ train on Friday evening.
Due to an uncertain forecast and potentially icy conditions, the Groups’ play has been postponed for this week and will take place on Thursday 8 March at 6pm and Friday 9 March at 10am with tea and coffee provided for parents from drop off.
For any queries, please contact Dunhurst Reception at email@example.com or 01730 300200.
Bedales Senior School continues to be open for all students and is operating a normal timetable on Saturday. Work will continue to be set on Firefly so that day students can work from home if parents feel it is unsafe to travel. Day parents should email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know if their child is unable to attend school.
The Product Design, Fashion and Dance BAC all-in weekends and the Drama trip are all going ahead as planned.
Other students may leave after their last timetabled lesson, after obtaining permission from house staff. Otherwise, lessons finish at the normal time.
Arrangements for the school bus to the station at 1pm are as normal. The school train will be the 2.16pm.
If parents have any queries concerning their child's weekend plans, they should stay in touch with house staff.
Bedales Reception can be contacted on 01730 300100.
