Children blow off steam at Alresford

Posted on 26th June 2017

Children from Bedales Pre-prep, Dunannie experienced the magic of the Watercress Line last week. The Reception class travelled from Alresford – the nation’s capital of watercress – to Ropley on a steam train which originally would have been used to transport Hampshire’s famous watercress to London in the mid-1800s.

Teacher, Sharon Rose said: “The class really enjoyed their trip on the Watercress Line for a 'Teddy takes the Train' day. They helped Mrs Bear find her missing picnic by following paw prints around Ropley station and the train driver let them see the engine and the signal box.”
