Dunannie Makes a Splash

Children at Bedales Pre-prep, Dunannie, celebrated Water Day last week where they learned the importance of water as a resource with the help of charity, WaterAid.

A moving presentation about the importance of water was followed by a variety of indoor and outdoor water-themed activities. Year 1, 2 and 3 worked in teams throughout the day and investigated creatures in the school pond, surveyed the Bedales estate for evidence of water and created an amazing underwater sculpture using recycled water bottles.

A team challenge involving carrying and moving water over, under and through obstacles to a collection point proved very popular and rather wet. A collection of water-themed prints that were made on the day were sold to raise money for WaterAid.
