Professor Peter Atkins to deliver Eckersley Lecture

Posted on 15th April 2012

We are delighted to welcome Professor Peter Atkins of Lincoln College, Oxford, to deliver this year’s Eckersley Lecture entitled The Limits of Science 1 May at 7.30pm in the Olivier Theatre. During a long and distinguished career as an academic and research chemist, Professor Atkins has also been responsible for writing many of the standard chemistry textbooks and, more recently, a number of general science books. In 2011 he published, among others, On Being: A Scientist Examines the Great Questions of Existence. As an honorary associate of the Rationalist Association and of the National Secular Society, he will no doubt present a challenging perspective on the ambitions and possibilities of scientific endeavour.
