School of Rock

Bedales features in an article in School House magazine, describing how independent schools are leading the way in 21st century music with “the fun, the funky, the rock and the soul very much part of the daily school diet across the private schools’ sector”,  in the context of government cuts in state school music provision.

In the article, Neil Hornsby, Bedales Head of Contemporary Music says: “Today our rock show is as professional as possible. The programme offers jazz, folk, country, whatever the students are into.” Commenting on the school’s growing reputation for contemporary music, he adds: “Two or three times a year, we are approached by artist management companies and record labels who come to talent-spot.”
