A visit to the college is key to help establish what type of course and environment you would like to study in. Ideally a college’s end of year Foundation exhibition is a good show case of the specific characteristics of each institution. These shows are usually in the Spring or Summer term and may provide an opportunity to talk to both tutors and students. Alternatively if you are unable to visit the show, each college will publish open day dates which will hopefully offer another opportunity to visit the studios and talk to the staff and students. Below is a suggested guide to the timings of activities and dates to watch for during the academic year but each institution will have an individual schedule, therefore it is important to watch their web sites.
A crucial part of your application is your portfolio; some colleges require you submit this instead of having a verbal interview. It is essential that you continue to work on the contents of this very personal sample of evidence throughout the AS and A2 course.
