Attend one-to-one interview with Higher Education Adviser to discuss plans after Bedales.
Research a range of courses and institutions; establish when open days will be held.
Talk to tutor and teachers about application and discuss likely grades.

April – July
Attend open days.

Higher education briefing for parents.
Top Up lessons start, designed to stretch those aiming at the top universities.

UCAS Day: presentations to 6.1 about the full application process and personal statement by the Higher Education Adviser and a University Admissions Tutor.
Old Bedalian (OB) Higher Education Fair:  a chance to talk to OB’s currently at university about courses and institutions.

Summer Holiday 
Review research to start making firm plans about application.

6.2 (Upper Sixth)

Provisional A Level predicted grades given in the first Tutor Time of the summer term (September 5th). 
Final A Level predicted grades agreed at 1st Review Meeting (September 26th).
Higher Education Adviser talks to 6.2 in detail about the UCAS form and the personal statement.
Oxbridge, medical and veterinary applicants fast tracked out of the main system.
Allocation of departmental UCAS referees once final courses chosen.
Oxbridge, medical and veterinary applicants finalise personal statements and submit to UCAS referee by end of September.  Forms sent to UCAS by mid-October deadline.

Non- Oxbridge, medical and veterinary applicants finalise personal statements and submit to UCAS referee by early November at the latest.

There is no national curriculum for higher education courses, but the Quality Assurance Agency carries out external reviews and the Unistats website contains statistics and reports about students' views on the quality of teaching. There are different guides and league tables that can help you, but check the source as it may be biased.
