Private Vineyard Tour and Wine Tasting at The Grange, Hampshire
The Grange Estate has been in the Baring family for over 200 years. It is well-known for its iconic annual Opera festival in a stunning neoclassical building set on sweeping lawns above a glittering lake. More recently however their wines have been making the headlines. Zam Baring and his three siblings (three Old Bedalians between them) have planted fifty two thousand vines in ten and a half hectares outside Itchen Abbas and are making award winning sparkling wine. Their very first wine, the 2014 PINK, was awarded 91 points and a Silver Medal in the 2019 International Wine Challenge and also won Silver in the 2019 Sommelier Wine Awards.
Join us as Zam takes us through the story of The Grange, Hampshire wines via a private tour of the vineyard, Burge’s Field, followed by a bespoke wine tasting.
Timings: 5.30 - 7.30pm
Cost: Tour and wine tasting, £20

Private Tour of Pallant House Gallery and two exhibitions (Ben Nicholson and Masterpieces in Miniature), followed by lunch
The Pallant House Gallery in Chichester is closed to the public on Mondays but we have kindly been offered an exclusive opportunity to join them for a behind the scenes tour of the house, its various galleries and two special exhibitions.
‘Ben Nicholson – From the Studio’ will be an intimate look at Ben Nicholson’s everyday inspirations. Throughout his career, Ben Nicholson (1894 – 1982) transformed everyday objects in to extraordinary experiments in abstract art. The exhibition traces the personal influences on Nicholson’s still life style, exploring his time with Winifred Nicholson, Barbara Hepworth as well as his encounters with other Modernist greats, Pablo Picasso and Piet Mondrian.
The Masterpieces in Miniature exhibition includes more than 80 original, miniature, works of art. With work by artists from Vanessa Bell, Richard Hamilton to new pieces by Rachel Whitehead, Grayson Perry, Edmund de Waal, Damien Hirst and Tacita Dean the exhibition is a time capsule of 80 years of British art.
The gallery tour will end with a light lunch in Pallant House’s restaurant.
Timings: 10.30am - 2pm
Cost: Private tour and lunch, £20

Sunday 7 November
Block 5 Parents' Supper in the Dining Room
Magnus and Camilla would like to invite all parents of Block 5 students to supper on Sunday 7th November, 7pm in the Bedales dining room. This ‘all year group’ supper is being held on a Sunday night in the hope that we can entice as many of you as possible to come along – perhaps those of you with boarders might decide to drive your children back to school that evening.
It would be lovely if you can join us: it will be a good opportunity to meet the parents of your children’s friends and, if previous parents’ suppers are anything to go by, it promises to be a fun evening.
There is no cost for this event.
