Bedales Pre-prep is the foundation of our children’s education and an introduction to the principle that underpins the School – learning as part of a wider community characterised by trust, mutual respect and shared creative endeavour. Our aim is to nurture children who are rounded, confident, inquisitive and kind to others, and who can challenge themselves in a safe environment without fear of failure. We focus on the journey - fun and adventure is at the core of all we do!

We place emphasis on outdoor learning, and the Pre-prep's beautiful open, green orchard cocooned with lush trees and the wider 120 acre Bedales estate – a place where nature and simple pleasures prevail – provides a setting for all kinds of lessons and activities and is also a powerful metaphor for the School’s rich commitment to its children. We want our children to develop the independence, skills and attitudes that will serve them well as they move through Bedales School and beyond, and to enjoy a special, inspiring and safe place where lifelong friendships are created and many memories are made.
