Old Bedalian 2005

Have you undertaken any kind of further study since leaving Bedales and have you gained any further qualifications?

I studied Biological Sciences at Exeter University and gained a First class degree.

What kind of work are you currently involved in, and how and why have you come to be doing it?

I am currently working at the Tate as Patrons Manager. Previously, I worked as a Fundraising Officer at the Zoological Society of London (London Zoo essentially) raising money for conservation of species and habitats worldwide. I got into fundraising at university and have since worked at two conservation charities. I love conservation science but never wanted to be a scientist, so this job allowed me to stay at the forefront of conservation science and support its progress.

Did attending Bedales help you in getting to where you are now and how satisfied are you with what you are doing?

I love what I am doing. To be a good fundraiser, you have to be happy and comfortable both with yourself and talking to new people, something which Bedales always seemed to actively encourage in its pupils.
