Our beautifully refurbished boarding house opened in September 2023.
The 40-bed boarding house brings together our boys’ and girls’ boarding houses into a single, co-educational boarding house for pupils in Group 1 (Year 4) to Block 2 (Year 8), with communal social spaces and separate areas for dormitories and bathrooms.
The boarding house was designed in collaboration with staff and boarders to create a space that improves students’ integration and enhances the boarding experience.
Dorms and bathrooms
Located on two floors in the main school building, boys occupy the top floor and girls the lower. The first and second floors are separated by alarmed doors.
There are six dorms on the first floor and nine dorms on the second. There is a maximum of four beds in each dorm.
Each bed area has storage for personal belongings; electric points; a bedside table and lamp; and a pin board for photos and posters that pupils would like to bring with them. We encourage our boarders to bring posters, family photos and other belongings to make it feel like a cosy home from home.
Each floor has its own bathrooms, containing toilets, showers and basins.
Communal social spaces
There is a common room, kitchen and games area on the first floor, with comfy sofas, books, board games, televisions and an Xbox. Boys and girls can socialise together in these areas. We also have use of the rest of the school building and playgrounds and pitches during the evenings and weekends.
