Information for visitors

Welcome to Bedales. Here you’ll find everything you need for your visit - from travel directions and parking details to safeguarding guidance and event information. Also included are details of our daily minibus service for students coming to Bedales from neighbouring towns and villages. Whether you’re arriving by train, car or minibus, our South Downs campus is easy to reach and full of inspiration. We look forward to welcoming you and helping you experience our community firsthand.

Bedales is set in the heart of the South Downs National Park in Steep, near Petersfield, Hampshire. Our campus is easily accessible via the A3 or the A272; exit at the junction signposted services/Petersfield Industrial Estate.

Our address is Bedales School, Church Road, Steep, Petersfield, GU32 2DG

Bus service routes
Our minibus service operates on three main routes - Petworth, Birdham and Winchester - and a collection from Petersfield Station.

The services operate morning only due to the differing finish times across Bedales, Pre-prep, Prep and Senior. The services use our own school minibuses with our own staff driving.

All routes aim to arrive at Bedales Prep at 8.15am and Bedales Senior at 8.20am. The services will run Monday to Saturday except on long leave weekends and bank holidays.

How to book

To book your child's space on the minibus service, please contact Bedales Senior School Reception:

Email: seniorreception@bedales.org.uk
Telephone: 01730 300100

The termly charge is for a space on the minibus which will allow a student to use the service every day. We are unable to offer a more flexi service for occasional days. The charges are per term (irrespective of the length of term) and will be in advance alongside the school fees. Once you have booked a place on the minibus service, we would need a term’s notice from you to cancel this.

Catering

The Bedales Catering department puts together a varied and healthy menu each term. The students are very much involved in menu development through the Food Forum and School Council.

We are environmentally aware and are undertaking big changes to lower our carbon footprint, increase recycling and are involving the students to help move this forward.

Special diets and allergies are catered for daily, as are bespoke menus. All meals are freshly cooked in our kitchens and ingredients are locally sourced where possible. All our suppliers are within a 20 mile radius.

For further information regarding all things food, please contact Matt Potts, Head of Catering: mpotts@bedales.org.uk
