Message from the Rural Refugee Network (RRN):
Ten years ago, in our rural community, a small group of people came together to give refugees a chance to rebuild their lives in the UK. Since then, our charity has grown. RRN helps bring refugees to safety in the UK and supports families and young people across Hampshire to integrate, thrive and build their lives here, supporting refugees to find their feet in our community.
For over a decade we have worked with refugees fleeing conflict and war in countries including Sudan, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria, Eritrea and Ethiopia; helping them find stability, connection, independence and a place to call home. None of it would have been possible without the remarkable volunteers, and wider community of stakeholders who have given their time, energy and commitment over the years. We are deeply grateful.
We are delighted to be holding this special evening at Bedales, who have supported us over the years and are generously hosting us for this celebration. Join us for a screening of the film Khartoum, music, song and good conversation, and raise a glass with us to ten years of this work and everything still to come. The evening is a perfect chance to find out more and meet the people behind the charity.
Pre-event drinks and nibbles will be available in the theatre foyer from 18:30-19:30.
