It has been a great start to the netball season, with good numbers in all year groups. The main focus for this half term has been attacking, with particular emphasis on driving onto the all, creating space to drive onto the ball, and not crowding areas of the court.

Through game play, we have aimed to encourage players to gain an understanding of why these attacking principles are essential to retaining possession, and through questioning and observation, we have seen an improvement in these areas.

Set plays have started to feature at the end of this season, so we will look to continue with this, as well as wroking in our attacking and defensive areas to both defend and feed the circle.

Under 14s

The U14s have shown great enthusiasm for netball, with an overall willingness to improve and a love of match play. A shooter and attack heavy year would usually see a lot of players sharing positions and having time off court, but in this case the players have taken it in their stride playing out of position, which has not only has helped their team but has improved their overall game play.

Under 15s

A brilliant group of players, with some who are new to not only matches, but to the sport of netball! It has been great to see the team improving during team training sessions and support each other to improve. You can always guarantee that people will be laughing and there is a light-hearted approach to the sessions which has shown an increase in players as everyone feels welcome.

Seniors (First, Second and Third teams)

A light start to the season in terms of fixtures has helped to give the teams time to play together and get back into the netball mindset. There have been some brilliant new signings this year to add to the great players that have come through Bedales, showing a great sense of teamwork with a real desire to not only improve, but to win as well. A group of players who are brilliant to coach and we look forward to more fixtures during the second half of the season.
