The 2026 cricket season at Bedales promises to be one of our most exciting yet.

We'll see plenty of expanded opportunities for girls, juniors and senior players, strengthened community links, and improved facilities ready to support the programme.

This year, the season begins with internal warm‑up matches designed to give all players valuable time in the middle before competitive fixtures begin. These sessions allow our U14, U15 to sharpen skills and prepare for a calendar of T20 fixtures and tournaments across the summer term.

Expanded Fixtures for Girls and Junior Cricket.

Girls’ cricket continues to grow rapidly at Bedales, and the 2026 schedule reflects this momentum. Our junior girls’ squad has a full programme of matches lined up, offering players of all abilities the chance to represent the school and participate in competitive cricket in a supportive environment. In addition to the full fixture list, the U15 side have also been entered into the School Sport Magazine National Schools U15 Girls T20 Cricket Cup, where they will face Churcher’s College in the first round.

Junior boys’ teams at U14 and U15 also enjoy an exciting set of fixtures, including several local derbies and evening T20s scheduled in partnership with community clubs.

One of the most exciting developments this season is the deepening of our partnerships with Petersfield Cricket Club and Steep Cricket Club.

These links have significantly increased opportunities for training and fixtures -particularly benefiting our older students.

• The senior players can train weekly at Bedales with Steep CC, taking advantage of high‑quality nets and facilities.

• Several additional mixed and senior fixtures have been added to the calendar through these club partnerships, ensuring students gain experience beyond the school environment.

• Players interested in club cricket now have clear pathways and invitations into local weekend cricket, strengthening their year‑round development.

Pre‑season preparation is already well underway.

Winter nets have seen excellent attendance, with students showing real commitment to skill development ahead of the first summer fixtures.

We are also delighted to confirm two specialist masterclasses with Hampshire all‑rounder Nick Gubbins.

These sessions provide our players with access to elite‑level insights into batting, decision‑making and T20 strategies - an invaluable addition to our programme and a real highlight of the calendar.

The cricket pavilion refurbishment is scheduled for completion ahead of the first competitive matches. The updated space will enhance the experience for players, staff and spectators alike - just in time for a summer full of home fixtures on the Memorial and Dunhurst pitches.

Looking Ahead.

With expanded opportunities, expert coaching, community partnerships and improved facilities, the 2026 cricket season is set to be one of the strongest in recent years. We look forward to seeing students across all age groups thriving on the pitch and embracing the full spirit of Bedales cricket.
