Bedales Pre-prep provides a nurturing environment that encourages positive behaviour, mutual respect and emotional wellbeing. Children thrive in an inclusive setting where they take growing responsibility for themselves and others.
Staff model kindness and good manners, guided by consistent values. The child-devised ‘Be Values’ underpin our caring ethos across the school. Collaboration between teachers and parents is key, supported by our open-door policy and regular updates through newsletters, presentations and events. Empathy and respect are at the heart of everything we do. These values are taught, lived, and celebrated every day through our presentations, events and daily interactions.
Alongside our broad, stimulating curriculum at Bedales Pre-prep, we nurture children's individual interests and passions through a variety of after school activities and clubs.
We offer a range of physical and creative activities and clubs led by specialist teachers, encouraging children to try new things and develop existing skills.

For families who may need flexibility during their daily lives, we offer before and after school care for children in Reception to Year 3.
Our 'Early Bird Club' runs in the mornings, with our 'Swallow Club' and 'late Swallow Club' taking place after the school day has finished.
The Bedales Catering department puts together a varied and healthy lunch menu for the Pre-prep children, who eat together in the dining room each day. All meals are freshly cooked in our kitchens and locally sourced where possible. Special diets and allergies are catered for daily.
Snack time is planned as a regular, pleasant and social event and we provide a range of cultural and nutritious experiences for the children. During snack time, we sit with children and encourage them to talk and listen to each other, learning to respect each other's views and opinions, likes and dislikes.
Parents are involved in discussions about the snack food provided through the Friends of Dunannie class representatives.
