Bedales Senior
Learning support at Bedales Senior is tailored to a student’s individual needs in liaison with tutors and teachers to ensure the students’ strengths and areas of challenge are supported. Learning support includes a suite of interventions during the year, but includes extra lessons, access arrangements and the development of learning strategies to use within the classroom and when studying. The charge is for the whole term based on all of the above and is not based on attendance at 1:1 lessons.

Bedales Prep and Pre-prep
In line with national SEND guidance, we deliver learning support in three Tiers at Bedales Prep. All charges are per term in arrears.
Tier One – Free or included provision which is delivered through:
• High quality adaptive teaching in all classrooms
• Differentiated and scaffolded learning approaches, which are evidenced for all students, at all levels, in weekly and daily planning
• In class support from teachers and learning assistants, who all have access to planning in advance to enable progress for all learners
• Ongoing pastoral monitoring and tutor support
Tier Two - Targeted support can be offered in a range of ways:
• Individual and Small group interventions focused on identified learning needs
• Time-limited programmes delivered by learning support staff

Tier Three - Specialist support which would require:
• Daily one to one teaching or functional support from specialist staff
• Individualised and mutually agreed programmes based on specific learning needs
• Specialist assessments and external professional input wherever needed.
Support under Tier Three may be put in place following assessment and a specific agreement with parents, however, it is unusual for students at Bedales to require 1:1 support, as this would constitute specialist provision.
In specific cases where we can meet this level of need, specialist provision must be fully funded for us to be able to provide the requisite adult support for the child to make good progress. This would either need to be fully funded through an EHCP or by parents themselves. Fees would be decided at the point of application, or when the need is identified by the school.
English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Bedales Senior and Prep
Extra tuition in English as an Additional Language (EAL) may be provided (mainly in the form of 1:1 lessons) and based on the needs of the student as assessed by the School.

Included in the termly fees are tuition costs for the standard curriculum, pastoral care and tutoring, laundry for boarders (excluding dry cleaning), use of the facilities, travel for most sports and games, and personal accident insurance.
Billed with the termly fees as additional charges are examination fees, visa compliance, medical support from and registration with the Swan Surgery (Boarding pupils), Learning Support/EAL, transport, academic books, materials and consumables for student’s own projects, and school trips.
We review our fees annually and may increase them in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
Fees and extras are due before the start of each term and are payable by termly Direct Debit. As an alternative to paying termly, you can opt to manage school fees more conveniently by spreading the cost over 12 monthly payments with School Fee Plan*.
