Post-sale note: Thank you all who attended and bought art on the night. There was a great buzz in the Quad which was transformed into an art gallery for the evening. Proceeds are being distributed to the Rural Refugee Network and the John Badley Foundation Emergency Refugee Fund.

Record numbers of professional and semi-professional artists will be exhibiting at the 2024 Art Sale in support of Hampshire’s Rural Refugee Network and the John Badley Foundation (JBF) Emergency Refugee Fund.

The sale, which takes place on Monday 4 March 2024 from 6-9pm at Bedales School will include 240 works from 80 artists.

Exhibitors will include Emma Hartley (see her ‘The Pink House’ above), Nick McMillen, Olive Wootton, Mark Wickham, Scott Pohlschmidt, Simon Hitchens, Bromley & Bouverie, Michael Minas, Deborah Mitchelson, Matthew Rice and Ukrainian artists Olga Morozova and Maryna Melnyk.

”We are delighted by the response” says Anne Tutt, Chair of the Petersfield-based RRN, “it shows that, in spite of the terrible things happening in the world currently our supporters are still eager to help us provide compassionate and practical support for refugees.  The money raised will help RRN support refugees with, amongst other things, language lessons, employment training and accommodation.”

Head of Bedales Will Goldsmith commented: “It is so inspiring for our school community to be hosting this fundraising Art Sale with the Rural Refugee Network and the supporting artists. Our JBF Emergency Refugee Fund enables young people to attend Bedales Senior and Prep schools who have been displaced from their homes and had their education disrupted. By coming along on the night and buying artwork, people will be supporting our two charities and helping more young people seeking to rebuild their lives.”

The Art Sale will be held at Bedales School, Church Road, Steep. Entry is free by ticket only, available here or tel: 0333 666 3366

Please note art is only available to purchase on the evening of the sale. View the Art Sale catalogue below:
