Can geography help us avert catastrophe?

Last year, I (Paul Turner) read Danny Dorling and Carl Lee’s book "Geography" and saw Kate Tempest live in London.

Then Brexit and Trump happened.

This got me thinking and I decided to organise a Geography Festival to bring together inspiring people to highlight the importance of geography in creating a better future.

This one day festival will inspire a generation of geographers.

The programme for the day includes:

2 lectures by prominent academics outlining possible sources of catastrophe
a panel discussion about the role of geography in the 21st century
workshops run by "activist" organisations to provide you with the skills to change the world

We'll celebrate the end of the day with live music from a suitably political musician.

Guests currently confirmed: Carl Lee / David Lambert / Benjamin Hennig / The Equality Trust / Population Matters / South Downs National Park Authority
