Dunannie celebrates World Book Day
Inclement weather may have shut schools up and down the country, but Dunannie children had prepared in advance for their World Book Day celebration.
This year, the children took home a wooden spoon and a pipe cleaner and recreated their favourite character from their favourite book using the spoon, the pipe cleaner and their creativity.
Teacher, Camilla Bell said: “There was a wonderful array of characters from Mr Twit, Paddington Bear to the Highway Rat. Our library is now full of these wonderfully imaginative and creative characters. Some children brought in the book, and many of them enjoyed sharing their characters with their friends and class teacher.”
This year marked the 21st anniversary of World Book Day and it is now celebrated in over 100 countries around the world.
