Looking for extra motivation to don running shoes and get outdoors?

We are inviting parents and staff from the three Bedales Schools to come together for a running event in Queen Elizabeth Country Park (QECP) on Sunday 26 March 2023 to raise funds for the John Badley Foundation (JBF).

This is an organised public off-road running event, for all abilities including those new to trail running. Distances offered are 9, 15 or 21 km (half marathon). Dogs can accompany in the 9 and 15 km events.

Students (age 12+) and Old Bedalians (OBs) are also being encouraged to join in.

Members of our community have previously participated in the Great South Run (pictured), helping raise support for the JBF across the school community. The JBF is currently supporting 19 pupils at Bedales and Bedales Prep, Dunhurst, including those from overseas who have had to leave their homes due to war and persecution, and those in the UK facing significant challenges at home or school. For these young people, Bedales is offering some stability in their lives and a transformational educational opportunity. We are keen to help more young people next year but this will depend on raising sufficient funding.

If you are interested, please enter via the event website here, and confirm you're planning to run by emailing externalrelations@bedales.org.uk. If you can’t get to Petersfield on the day and are keen to join in, please pledge to run or walk in your locality on the same day to generate sponsorship from your family and friends.

We will be arranging a fundraising website and training runs at the QECP 5 km Park Run which shares part of the route and takes place on most Saturday mornings at 9am.

Let’s demonstrate what can be achieved by a collective effort….and have some fun along the way!
